Built by Fabbrica Armi Isodoro Rizzini in the Lombardy region of Italy, a family maker that has been machining fine doubles for decades, this 12 gauge carries the kind of details you usually find on much pricier guns. The receiver is machined from a solid forged monobloc, then color case-hardened and dressed up with delicate engraving and a gold bird accent on the bottom. It looks the part, and more importantly, it is all steel where it counts.
The 28-inch barrels use chopper-lump construction, meaning each barrel and its lumps are formed from a single piece of steel. That is a hallmark of high-grade doubles because it builds strength right into the breech and helps the barrels shoot where you look. Lockup is handled by a proven double underbolt design, so this gun should stay tight through years of field seasons. Up top you get the Technichoke XP50 system with Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, and Modified tubes included, which covers everything from close flushes over a pointing dog to longer passing birds.

This version of the Iside II uses extractors rather than automatic ejectors. When you break the action, spent hulls are lifted from the chambers so you can pluck them out by hand. A lot of upland hunters prefer this since it keeps empties out of the field and makes for easy pocket collection.
Double triggers are the traditional setup on English-style game guns, and they let you instantly choose which barrel fires first based on the choke you want for a given shot. The front trigger fires the right barrel and the rear fires the left. Once you get used to it, barrel selection becomes second nature and many double-gun fans will not go back.
