Description
Edgar Sherman Design took a hard look at everything that goes wrong with traditional dump pouches and built the SAP Bucket to fix it. Pulling a little inspiration from the chalk bags climbers use, the result is a pouch that opens wide, stays put, and drains fast. This one comes in the classic M81 Woodland pattern, built from rugged 500 denier Cordura nylon that handles hard use without complaint.
What Sets the ESD SAP Bucket Apart
The mouth is the real trick here. A reinforced polymer ring keeps the opening rigid and in the same spot every time, so you can get gear in with one hand without fumbling for the opening. That ring also helps the pouch pop into shape fast when you unroll it, which matters when you need it in a hurry. The shock cord closure cinches the top down to keep your contents from bouncing out during movement, and a laminate pull tab on the cord keeps your fingers from slipping even with gloves on.
Packing Light With the SAP Bucket Dump Pouch
At roughly 6 liters with a 7-inch diameter opening, there is plenty of room inside. It will swallow 7 or more standard capacity M4 mags, a couple of one-liter Nalgene bottles, a pair of MREs, loose ammo, or just about anything else you need to stash in a hurry. When you are done, it rolls up small and takes up just a 2×2 panel of MOLLE, leaving the rest of your beltline open for the gear you actually need on hand.
Built to Drain and Stay Out of the Way
The bottom is made of mesh, so water, sand, and snow drain right through instead of pooling at the bottom like they do in a pouch with a single grommet. Tiedown loops let you strap it to your leg so it is not bouncing around while you are on the move. It is a lightweight, well thought out piece of kit that earns its spot on a plate carrier or belt, and it is made in the USA.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the SAP Bucket mount to gear?
The SAP Bucket mounts to MOLLE webbing and takes up a 2×2 panel when rolled up, which leaves the rest of your beltline or plate carrier open for other gear. It also has tiedown loops so you can strap it to your leg to keep it from bouncing when you are on the move.
Can you open and use the ESD SAP Bucket with one hand?
Yes. The reinforced polymer ring at the mouth keeps the opening rigid and in a consistent spot, so you can drop gear in one-handed without hunting for the opening. The shock cord closure and laminate pull tab are also designed to work with one hand, even with gloves on.
What can the SAP Bucket dump pouch actually hold?
With roughly 6 liters of volume and a 7-inch opening, it handles 7 or more standard capacity M4 mags, a couple of one-liter Nalgene bottles, a pair of MREs, loose ammo, and plenty more. It is a versatile catch-all for the range or the field.
Does the SAP Bucket drain water and debris?
It does. The bottom is built from mesh, so water, sand, and snow drain straight through rather than collecting inside. That mesh design clears contents faster than traditional dump pouches that rely on a single grommet.
