Description

The DNT ZULUS 4K is a tube-style digital day and night vision scope that looks and mounts like a conventional rifle scope but swaps the glass tube for a full digital imaging engine. It runs on a Sony STARVIS 2 4K CMOS sensor paired with a 50mm f/1.8 ED glass objective, and that combination is where the ZULUS 4K earns its keep. You get bright, high-contrast images with sharp edges and natural color through the day, into twilight, and well after dark. One of the standout points people keep coming back to is that it holds strong image definition at night even before you reach for an IR illuminator.

What the ZULUS 4K Sensor Brings to the Table

The sensor shoots at 3840×2160 resolution and gives you 3-24x magnification with up to 6x lossless digital zoom, so you can scan a wide area at 3x and then dial in to pick out detail at distance. In 4K mode the display runs at 30 FPS, and dropping to 1080p opens up a smoother 60 FPS, letting you choose between maximum clarity and faster frame rate depending on what you're doing. The 0.49-inch Micro-OLED display runs 1920×1080 at 60 Hz for an image that's easy on the eyes during long sessions, with 65mm of eye relief and a ±3 diopter adjustment to get it dialed in.

Ranging and Ballistics in One Unit

Where the ZULUS 4K really separates itself is the integrated laser rangefinder, good out to 1300 yards, working hand in hand with DNT's proprietary Ballistic Engine. Range your target and the scope calculates and displays a real-time firing solution, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of longer shots. Reviewers testing it on steel noted how easy the unit was to run and how accurate the ballistic solver proved to be well past typical hunting distances.

Built to Ride on a Real Rifle

This is a 30mm tube optic rated up to .50 BMG recoil and sealed to an IP67 waterproof and dustproof standard, so it's made for actual field use rather than perfect-weather range days. It records onboard to 64GB of internal memory with adaptive noise reduction and a tuned microphone, and Wi-Fi through the DNT app makes pulling footage and controlling the scope straightforward. Power comes from a replaceable 21700 flat-top battery good for around 6 hours, with USB-C available for external power when you want to stretch a long night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the ZULUS 4K be used during the day or is it night vision only?

It's a true day and night optic. The Sony STARVIS 2 4K sensor and 50mm f/1.8 ED lens deliver bright, high-contrast images in daylight that rival a traditional day scope, then carry that clarity into twilight and darkness. It even holds solid image definition at night before you add an IR illuminator.

Does the ZULUS 4K record video, and how is footage stored?

Yes. The scope has 64GB of built-in memory and records onboard with adaptive noise reduction and a tuned microphone for clean video and audio. You can record in 4K-30FPS mode for maximum detail or 1080p-60FPS for smoother motion, and Wi-Fi through the DNT app lets you transfer files and control the scope from your phone.

How does the built-in rangefinder and ballistic engine work on the ZULUS 4K?

The integrated laser rangefinder reads targets out to 1300 yards and feeds that data straight to DNT's proprietary Ballistic Engine. The scope then calculates and displays a firing solution in real time, so you're not juggling a separate rangefinder or doing holdover math in your head. Field testing has shown the solver to be accurate and genuinely easy to run.

What size rings does the ZULUS 4K need and how tough is it?

It's a 30mm tube and ships with a pair of 30mm scope rings, so you can get it mounted right out of the box. The body is rated to IP67 for waterproof and dustproof protection and handles recoil up to .50 BMG, so it's built to live on a working rifle rather than just see range time.
