It's a two-piece pancake design built from unlined American leather that hugs your body and rides high on the belt, which keeps a full-size 1911 planted in one spot whether you're standing, sitting, or behind the wheel. No thumb break here, just a clean open top that lets you draw fast and reholster without wrestling a strap.
The magic is in the molding. DeSantis forms the leather tight around the 1911 profile, and an adjustable tension screw near the trigger guard lets you dial in exactly how much friction you want on the draw. Snug it up for a firm hold, or back it off for a smoother pull. That same screw comes in handy years down the road too, letting you tighten things up as the leather breaks in and softens against your gun.
This version wears three double-stitched belt slots, so you can run the pistol straight up or set a forward FBI cant to suit how you carry. The slots take belts up to 1 3/4" wide, which covers most everyday and gun belts out there. Spreading the weight across those loops is a big part of why the rig sits flat and stays comfortable through a long day. It's set up for right-hand draw and worn best behind the hip under a covering garment.
