The RAN Ironwolf is their modernized take on the platform, chambered in .45 Colt with an 8 round tubular magazine, an 18 inch threaded barrel, and a black Melonite finish over the receiver, barrel, and mag tube. It looks nothing like grandpa's saddle gun, and that's the whole point.
The namesake feature here is the machined aluminum Ironwolf buttstock, and it's a genuinely clever piece of hardware. Cheek height and drop adjust with external dials and screws, so there are no shims or inserts to fool with, and the design works equally well for right and left handed use. You also get QD sling mounts and M-LOK slots on the stock itself, which pair nicely with clip-on ammo carriers. Up front, the aluminum M-LOK forend gives you real estate for a light or hand stop without any gunsmithing.
Derya built the RAN series on a mono-block steel receiver, which cuts down on vibration and keeps the action cycling smoothly compared to jointed designs. The 18 inch barrel wears 5/8×24 threading, so adding a suppressor or muzzle device is a five minute job. Sights are handled by a fixed front post and an adjustable rear that integrates a Picatinny rail, meaning you can run irons, a red dot, or a scout style optic without giving anything up.
