Description
The Dead Air KeyMicro GOV Flash Hider takes the proven KeyMicro design and builds it out of 17-4 stainless steel instead of the standard 4140, giving you a tougher, more corrosion resistant muzzle device without changing the fit or function you already know. It threads 1/2-28 onto common 9mm barrels, keeps a low profile at just over two inches long, and tips the scale at right around 3.5 ounces. On its own it's a clean minimalist flash hider. Pair it with a KeyMicro or KeyMo adapter and it becomes a fast, repeatable mount for your can.
What Sets the KeyMicro GOV Apart
The whole point of the GOV series is material. Dead Air moved to nitride coated 17-4 stainless after military and law enforcement partners asked for better durability and corrosion resistance in rough conditions. That combination shrugs off wear, erosion, and rust, which matters on a duty gun or a suppressor host that sees a lot of rounds. You can spot a GOV device by the G tacked onto the part number, and the precision machining keeps suppressor lockup tight and consistent shot after shot.
Running the KeyMicro GOV as a Suppressor Mount
This is where the system really shines. When it's used with a KeyMo GOV HUB adapter, you get a mechanical secondary retention feature that adds a layer of security beyond a standard quick-detach setup. Lockup takes just a half to two-thirds of a turn, and it holds under heat, high round counts, and hard use. One-way indexing means your suppressor returns to the same spot every time, so your point of impact stays predictable when you move the can between hosts.
Compatibility and Setup
Backwards compatibility is a big plus here. The GOV devices still play nice with existing KeyMo and Xeno adapters, so if you're already running Dead Air's mounting system you don't need to swap anything else out. The rear section has wrench flats for easy installation with a standard wrench, making it a straightforward add to pistol-caliber carbines, sub guns, and 9mm hosts like the Ghost-M, Wolf-9SD, or Wolfman.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the KeyMicro GOV different from the standard KeyMicro flash hider?
The GOV version is machined from 17-4 stainless steel instead of the standard 4140 alloy, which came from military and law enforcement partners asking for more durability and corrosion resistance in hard-use conditions. The fit, function, and adapter compatibility stay the same as the standard KeyMicro. You can tell GOV parts apart by the G added to the part number.
Can I use the KeyMicro GOV as a suppressor mount?
Yes. On its own it's a standalone flash hider, but paired with a KeyMicro or KeyMo adapter it becomes a quick-detach suppressor mounting platform. Lockup takes about a half to two-thirds of a turn, and when used with the KeyMo GOV HUB adapter you get a mechanical secondary retention feature for extra security.
Will the KeyMicro GOV work with my existing Dead Air adapters?
It does. The GOV series keeps backwards compatibility with existing KeyMo and Xeno adapters, so if you're already running Dead Air's mounting system you don't need to change anything. It uses the same one-way indexing for a consistent return to zero when you move your suppressor between hosts.
What firearms is the KeyMicro GOV a good fit for?
It's built for 9mm platforms with 1/2-28 threading, making it a solid match for pistol-caliber carbines, sub guns, and short-barreled 9mm hosts. It's a common choice on Dead Air 9mm suppressor setups like the Ghost-M, Wolf-9SD, and Wolfman. The compact profile keeps things low bulk while still giving you quick-attach capability.
