Instead of welded stainless baffles, this can is 3D printed from Haynes 282, a nickel-based superalloy from the aerospace world that shrugs off the kind of heat that erodes lesser suppressors. That additive construction means a monolithic core with no weld seams to fail, plus internal geometry you simply can't machine the old-fashioned way. The result is a hard-use .30 caliber can rated for full-auto fire and cartridges all the way up to .300 RUM, with no barrel length restrictions to worry about.
The headline feature here is the Triskelion Gas Management System, which pairs conventional cone baffles with Dead Air's patent-pending Triskelion baffles to push propellant gases forward and out instead of back at you. If you've ever run a mag through a suppressed AR and come away blinking through the blowback, you'll appreciate the difference. The wider 1.65 inch bore and flow-optimized internals keep cyclic rates closer to normal, which means less wear on your rifle and a cleaner gun at the end of the day. And it does all that while still delivering excellent sound and flash reduction at both the muzzle and your ear.
This configuration comes set up with Dead Air's KeyMo quick-detach system, the mount of choice for high-volume and duty use thanks to its rock-solid thread-to-taper lockup and fast on-and-off. A DA116 KeyMicro three-prong flash hider in 5/8-24 is included, so most .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrels are covered right away. Under that KeyMo module sits an industry-standard 1.375-24 HUB interface, so you can swap to Xeno, direct thread, or third-party HUB mounts down the road. The R-series front cap is swappable too, letting you tune the can for 5.56, .300 BLK, or full-power .30 cal loads. At 6.9 inches and 16.8 ounces in this trim, it carries its toughness without turning your rifle into a boat anchor.
It's rated for cartridges up to .300 Remington Ultra Magnum with a 4,200 ft-lb energy ceiling, and there are no barrel length restrictions. That covers .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 BLK, and 5.56 with the right mount. For 5.56 hosts, Dead Air recommends pairing it with their 5.56 flash hider, and you can swap front caps to tighten up performance for smaller bores.
This KeyMo version runs 6.9 inches and 16.8 ounces with Dead Air's quick-detach system, which is the pick for high-volume shooting and duty use. The Xeno version is shorter and lighter at 6.4 inches and 14.5 ounces, geared more toward precision rifles. Since the Sandman X uses a 1.375-24 HUB interface, you can switch between mounting systems later if your needs change.
