Dead Air built this one to be genuinely quiet on 9mm while still handling 10mm Auto without falling apart or sounding harsh, and the way they pulled it off is worth talking about. The whole suppressor is additively manufactured from 6AL4V grade 5 titanium as a single continuous piece, which lets them print the patented Triskelion baffle system with internal geometry that traditional machining just can't produce. The result is a can that hits 11.4 ounces, keeps backpressure low, and delivers a soft, low tonal signature at the ear instead of that sharp crack cheaper cans give you.
The forward porting up front is the sleeper feature here. Out of the box you get the PB440 Mojave piston in 1/2×28, machined from nitride-finished 17-4 PH stainless, so it's ready to thread onto most tilt-barrel 9mm pistols without buying anything extra. The 7075 aluminum front cap wears a hard coat anodized finish and pops off for easy cleaning, plus it shares cross-compatibility with Dead Air's R-Series caps. This is part of the RXD line Dead Air developed under license with Ruger, and the black Cerakote finish shrugs off heat and range wear. Dead Air backs it with their lifetime warranty, which counts for a lot when you're putting a tax stamp on something.
That's the whole point of the design. The bore is sized for 10mm-class projectiles, but the Triskelion baffle system was tuned around 9mm performance first, so you get strong sound reduction on 9mm with a pleasant low tone instead of the compromised performance you sometimes get from oversized bores.
