Most muzzle brakes do one job. The Dead Air KeyMicro Brake does two, and it does both without hanging a bunch of extra steel off the end of your barrel. Run it bare and you get a compact single-port brake that knocks down recoil and muzzle rise on pistol caliber carbines, 300 Blackout builds, and 350 Legend rifles. Add a KeyMicro or KeyMo adapter to your suppressor and that same brake becomes your quick-attach mounting point. One device, threaded on once, and you are set up either way.
The KeyMicro Brake is machined from 4140 heat-treated alloy steel and wears a black nitride finish that shrugs off carbon and corrosion. At 2.06 inches long and about 3.4 ounces, it keeps a low profile on shorter barrels where every bit of length matters. This 5/8-24 version has a 9mm through bore, which covers 9mm PCCs and sub guns along with .30 caliber and smaller rifle rounds running that thread pitch. Dead Air includes a shim kit in the box, so timing the port correctly is a straightforward job instead of a trip to the gunsmith for crush washers.
This is where the KeyMicro system earns its keep. With the KeyMicro adapter, it hosts the Wolfman and Ghost-45M. With the KeyMo adapter, you can hang a Nomad, Nomad-Ti, Primal, Sierra-5, or Lazarus-6, and the Sandman series mounts up as well. It uses the same locking technology as Dead Air's proven KeyMo system, just scaled down for a smaller footprint. If you own one Dead Air can now and plan on more later, dropping these brakes on your host guns makes swapping a suppressor between rifles a matter of seconds.
