That's the whole point of Dead Air's P-Series piston system, and this .578×28 version is the one you want for most .45 ACP pistols with factory threaded barrels. It threads into the rear of your Ghost-M and works with the P-Series booster assembly to keep tilting-barrel handguns cycling the way they should with a can hanging off the muzzle.
Swapping pistons takes seconds, no gunsmith required. Unscrew one, thread in the other, and your suppressor is ready for a different host. That means the same Ghost-M that lives on your 9mm carbine one weekend can ride on your threaded 1911 or Glock 21 the next. Beyond the Ghost-M, this piston also plays nice with the Wolfman and Wolf-9SD, so if you're running more than one Dead Air can, one set of pistons covers a lot of ground. Just note it is not compatible with the Odessa-9.
The piston is machined from high-strength steel and wears a black Cerakote finish that shrugs off carbon, heat, and solvent scrubbing. Threads are cut clean and true, which matters more than people think. A piston with sloppy threads is where baffle strikes come from, and Dead Air doesn't cut corners here. At roughly 2.4 ounces, it adds next to nothing to your setup.
This piston is designed to work with the P-Series booster assembly and spring, sold separately, on tilting-barrel semi-autos. If you're mounting to a fixed-barrel host like a pistol-caliber carbine, pair it with Dead Air's fixed barrel spacer instead of the spring. Either way, keeping a piston on hand for each thread pattern you own is the cheapest way to stretch one tax stamp across your whole collection.
This P-Series piston works with the Dead Air Ghost-M, Wolfman, and Wolf-9SD suppressors. It is not compatible with the Odessa-9. If you own more than one of these cans, the same piston can move between them as needed.

The booster is what allows tilting-barrel semi-autos like a 1911 or Glock 21 to cycle reliably with a suppressor attached. If your can already has the booster housing, you just swap pistons.
You can, but you'll want Dead Air's fixed barrel spacer in place of the booster spring. Fixed-barrel firearms don't need the recoil boost, and running the spacer keeps everything locked up solid. It's a quick swap and worth doing for pistol-caliber carbines.
It takes seconds and no special tools for a routine swap. Unthread the piston from the rear of the suppressor, thread in the one matching your host's barrel threads, and you're back in business. This is what makes one Ghost-M so versatile across multiple firearms.
