Most youth shotguns feel like an afterthought. Cheap wood, stripped-down features, and a stock somebody hacked short at the factory. The CZ Redhead Premier Reduced Length takes the opposite approach. CZ started with their popular Redhead Premier over/under and rebuilt it around a smaller shooter, trimming the length of pull from the standard 14.5 inches down to 13 inches and shortening the barrels to 24 inches. The result is a gun that mounts naturally and swings quickly for kids, smaller-framed adults, and anyone who finds full-size doubles unwieldy.
Nothing got left off to hit a price point. You still get auto ejectors that kick empties clear, a single selective trigger so you can pick which barrel fires first, and a manual tang safety right where your thumb expects it. The receiver wears a handsome silver satin chrome finish, and the Turkish walnut stock gives it the look of a gun that costs a lot more. The 3-inch chambers handle everything from light target loads to heavier hunting shells, and the 20 gauge keeps recoil manageable for newer or smaller frames.
The chrome-lined barrels are finished in gloss black chrome, which shrugs off weather and wet-dog hunting mornings better than traditional bluing. An 8mm flat vent rib and bead sight keep the sight picture simple, and at right around 6 pounds with a 40.5-inch overall length, this gun is easy to carry all day and quick to shoulder when a bird flushes. Five flush-mount choke tubes come in the box, covering everything from Cylinder for close flushes to Full for longer shots, so one gun handles doves, quail, pheasant, and weekend clays.

Yes, both barrels are chambered for 3" shells, so it will run everything from light 2-3/4" target loads up to 3" magnum hunting loads. For newer or younger users, lighter loads are the way to start since the gun only weighs about 6 pounds. The chrome-lined bores also make cleanup easy no matter what you feed it.
No, and that's the whole appeal. You still get the auto ejectors, single selective trigger, Turkish walnut stock, silver satin chrome receiver, and chrome-lined barrels found on the standard model. The only real differences are the shorter 13" length of pull and the 24" barrels.
