There is something refreshing about a rifle that does one thing and does it well. The CVA Scout V3 is a break-action single shot chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and it strips hunting back to the basics: break it open, drop in a round, close it up, make your shot count. No magazine to fumble, no bolt to short stroke, just a simple action that is easy to check, easy to clean, and easy to trust in cold weather with gloves on.
The 20 inch blued barrel is fluted to shave weight and comes threaded 5/8×24 with a thread protector installed, so it is ready for a suppressor or muzzle brake right out of the box. The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes the heavier, high BC 6.5 Creedmoor bullets that make this cartridge such a favorite for deer and hogs at practical hunting distances. Up top, a factory-installed 0 MOA rail means you can mount a scope the same day you bring it home, since the rifle ships without iron sights. The receiver is also drilled and tapped if you prefer a different base setup.
CVA gave this generation of the Scout a Stealth Grey synthetic stock with real adjustability built in. The comb height adjusts so you can get a proper cheek weld behind whatever scope you run, and a removable stock spacer lets you tweak length of pull for smaller framed hunters or bulky winter layers. Controls are ambidextrous, which makes it a natural pick for lefties or a shared family rifle.
At 6.4 pounds, this thing is a pleasure to carry into a climbing stand or across a few miles of ridgeline. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering keeps recoil mild, ammo is on every shelf in the country, and the short barreled, suppressor-ready package makes a lot of sense for hunters who run cans. Simple, light, accurate for the money, and built on a platform CVA has been refining for years. That is a hard combination to argue with.
It ships without iron sights and without a scope, but a 0 MOA rail base comes factory installed on the receiver. That means you can bolt on a scope or red dot right away with standard rings. The receiver is also drilled and tapped if you want to run a different base.
Yes. The 20 inch barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for most 6.5mm and .30 caliber suppressors and muzzle brakes. A thread protector comes installed from the factory to keep the threads clean when you are running the bare muzzle.
You can. This generation of the Scout features an adjustable comb height so you can get a solid cheek weld behind your optic, plus a removable spacer in the buttstock to shorten the length of pull. That makes it easy to fit younger hunters or adjust for heavy cold weather clothing.
Absolutely. The 6.5 Creedmoor is a proven deer cartridge with mild recoil and excellent downrange performance, and the 1:8 twist barrel handles the full range of factory hunting loads. Plenty of hunters prefer a single shot for its light weight, simplicity, and the discipline of making the first shot count.
