Description
The Grayboe Core is the top of the Grayboe lineup, a forged carbon or fiberglass stock built for the shooter who wants precision, rigidity, and the flexibility to run more than one rifle off a single stock. It rides on Grayboe's Universal Mini Chassis (UMC) system, which means your action bolts to the mini chassis and the chassis drops into the stock. Swapping calibers or even action patterns like Remington to Howa becomes a matter of moving the UMC over instead of buying a whole new setup. This version comes finished in Gap Camo, a painted pattern that hides the rifle in the field and shrugs off the wear that comes with real use.
What the Core Stock Brings to the Bench
Grayboe built this one with the competition and long-range crowd in mind, and it shows in the little touches. The cheek piece adjusts both vertically and side to side so you can line up perfectly behind your optic every time you shoulder it. Length of pull runs off 1/4-inch spacers behind the gel recoil pad, with a minimum LOP of 12.75 inches, so you can dial the fit to your frame or your gear. The vertical grip has a thumb shelf and palm swell that keep your trigger finger presented cleanly, which pays off during long strings of fire.
Running the Core with the Universal Mini Chassis
The UMC accepts AICS-style detachable magazines and feeds straight into the stock's magazine well, so there's no separate bottom metal to source. Most UMC models let you pick between a polymer hunter-style mag release or an adjustable paddle lever with .080 inches of vertical adjustment. Because the mini chassis is engineered to hold zero when pulled and reinstalled, you can share it across multiple Core, Flagstaff, or Renegade 2 stocks without chasing your point of impact around.
Built Tough, Backed for Life
The stock body is solid forged carbon fiber or fiberglass, cured under high heat and pressure for a stiff, flex-free platform that gives you a consistent place to launch every shot. A full-length M-LOK rail underneath the forend takes bipods, lights, and ARCA rails, and QD sling cups sit front and rear. It'll accept barrels up to 1.250 inches in diameter, and Grayboe backs the Core with their lifetime warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Grayboe Core stock come with the Universal Mini Chassis?
The Core can be ordered with or without a UMC, so it depends on the exact configuration. If you already run a UMC on your action from another Grayboe stock, you can move it over and skip buying a second one. Check the specific listing details before you order to confirm what's included with this SKU.
What rifles will fit the Core UMC compatible stock?
The Core works with any action that has a matching Universal Mini Chassis inlet, which covers popular platforms like Remington 700, Howa, Ruger American, Tikka, and Mossberg Patriot among others. Because the chassis handles the fitment, you're not locked into one action pattern. You just match the correct UMC to your rifle and drop it into the stock.
Do I need bottom metal to run detachable magazines in the Core?
No. The UMC feeds AICS-style detachable magazines directly, so there's no separate bottom metal to buy or install. That keeps the setup cleaner and gives you fast, reliable reloads whether you're on the clock or in the field.
Can I move the UMC between different rifles without losing zero?
Yes. The Universal Mini Chassis is engineered to hold zero when removed and reinstalled, which is one of the main draws of the system. That lets you share a chassis across multiple stocks or swap it between rifles without chasing your point of impact every time.
