Cobalt Kinetics built the Scrambler QD to solve a real problem: most 5.56 cans add too much weight and length to a short duty carbine, then dump gas back in your face on top of it. This one takes a different path. It was designed around 11.5 to 12.5 inch rifles, and at 6.2 ounces and 4.75 inches (not counting the flash tines), you can hang it on the muzzle and mostly forget it's there. The core is 3D printed titanium built through laser powder bed fusion, then heat treated so the finished part comes out stronger than traditional welded or machined baffle stacks, with no weld seams to warp or fail down the road.
Inside, the Scrambler uses CGS Group's Variable Core Diameter flow-through architecture paired with vent-to-atmosphere flash tines at the front. The result is gas that keeps moving out instead of coming back through your receiver, so you get less blowback at the cheek weld and a gas system that isn't getting overdriven. Flash and sound reduction stay solid despite the low backpressure, which is a tough balance for compact cans to pull off.
The QD system runs a left-hand 1-16 Acme thread over a 20 degree taper, which locks up tight and returns to the same spot every time you mount it. Cobalt includes an RCB-6 5.56 muzzle device in 1/2×28 with the can, and it also plays nice with other CGS SCI-SIX patterned devices, so running it across multiple hosts is simple. It's full auto rated with no barrel length restrictions and a life expectancy north of 50,000 rounds. Maintenance is about as easy as it gets in this category: weigh it when it's new, check it every 8,000 to 10,000 rounds, and if it's gained an ounce, an overnight soak in a Simple Green and water mix brings it back. For a lightweight titanium 5.56 can that can take a beating, this one earns its spot on the muzzle.

If it has gained an ounce or more, soak it overnight in a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water, or run it in an ultrasonic bath for about 15 minutes with the same solution. Fire a handful of rounds afterward to clear any leftover residue.
