Direct thread mounts like this one are popular for a reason. There is no muzzle device to time, no locking collar to fuss with, and fewer parts that can work loose or throw off alignment. The mount adds barely any length to your suppressor, which keeps the whole package compact and balanced. It is a great fit for bolt guns, precision rigs, and any host where you plan to leave the can mounted for a full range session rather than hot-swapping between rifles.
CMMG machines this mount from stainless steel and gives it a nitride finish, the same treatment found on their Zeroed suppressors. You will find it on most 5.56 AR-15 barrels, the majority of 9mm pistols and carbines with threaded barrels, and nearly all threaded .22 LR hosts. Just confirm your barrel's thread pitch before ordering, since some calibers use 5/8×24 or other patterns instead.
No proprietary tools required. The mount has 7/8 inch wrench flats, so a standard wrench handles installation and removal from your suppressor. Once the mount is seated in the can, you simply thread the whole assembly onto your muzzle by hand and snug it up.
It depends on how you shoot. Direct thread keeps things lighter, shorter, and simpler with fewer parts to wear or come loose, and it tends to be very consistent for accuracy.
