Some rifles make you pick a side. The CMMG Resolute MK47 refuses to. It runs AR-style controls, takes down like an AR, and mounts optics like an AR, but the lower is built around AK-pattern magazines. That means the tapered 7.62×39 cartridge feeds from magazines that were designed for it in the first place, which is a smarter approach than forcing that round through a straight AR-15 magwell. CMMG has been refining this platform since 2014, and the Resolute is the most dialed-in version yet.
The MK47 is a true mid-size platform. Instead of squeezing 7.62×39 into a standard AR-15 receiver set, CMMG scaled up the critical parts with their PowerBolt technology for extra durability, without ballooning the rifle into AR-10 territory. The result weighs in around 7 pounds and handles like a carbine should. The 16.1 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel wears a salt bath nitride treatment, spins a 1:10 twist that suits the cartridge well, and is threaded 5/8×24 with a Zeroed muzzle brake installed to tame what little recoil this round produces.
This rifle comes upgraded from the factory rather than begging for aftermarket parts. You get CMMG's Zeroed single stage drop-in trigger, ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety, ambi charging handle, Zeroed pistol grip, and a polymer dust cover. The six-position RipStock adjusts fast and locks up solid, and the EML 15 inch free-float handguard carries M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions so you can hang lights and accessories where you want them without extra bulk. The whole rifle is finished in Armor Black Cerakote over the receivers and handguard, so it shrugs off weather and range wear.
A Magpul 30-round PMAG ships in the box, and the rifle accepts most conventional AK-47 style magazines, so feeding it is cheap and easy. It ships optics-ready with no sights installed, leaving the full-length top rail open for whatever red dot or LPVO you prefer. For anyone who loves the 7.62×39 round but prefers AR ergonomics, this is about as clean a solution as it gets.
