Plenty of AR-15s leave the factory as bare-bones builds you end up upgrading piece by piece. The Resolute MK4 takes the opposite approach. CMMG loads this one up from the start with their USA-made ZEROED parts, including a drop-in trigger, ambidextrous charging handle, 60/90 degree safety selector, pistol grip, and an SV muzzle brake on the 1/2×28 threaded muzzle. Add the billet 6061-T6 upper mated to a forged 7075-T6 Mk4 lower, and you get a rifle that feels dialed in the moment you pick it up.
The 16.1 inch 4140CM barrel wears a salt bath nitride treatment for corrosion resistance and long service life, and the 1:7 twist stabilizes everything from light varmint loads to heavier 77 grain match ammo. CMMG paired it with a mid-length gas system and .750 gas block, which smooths out the recoil impulse compared to carbine-length setups and keeps the gun soft-cycling during long range sessions. At 6.4 pounds unloaded and 32.5 inches overall, it swings quick and carries easy whether you're working a carbine course or hiking to a shooting spot.
The EML15 handguard gives you M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, trimming weight by skipping the full-length top rail while still leaving room for lights, sights, and hand stops wherever you want them. The RipStock deserves a mention too. Just pull it straight back to your shoulder and it snaps to your preset length of pull, no fumbling with a lever needed. Since the whole rifle is built on the standard Mk4 AR-15 platform, aftermarket parts and accessories drop right in.
Finished in durable Armor Black Cerakote and shipping with a 30-round Magpul PMAG, this carbine is a strong pick for a first serious AR, a home setup, or a training rifle you'll put real round counts through. CMMG backs it with their Lifetime Quality Guarantee, which says plenty about how they build them.
No, this rifle ships optics-ready with no sights installed. The flat-top upper receiver gives you a clean Picatinny rail section for mounting a red dot, LPVO, or backup irons. The EML15 handguard also has M-LOK slots at the 12 o'clock position if you want to add a rail section up front for a front sight.
The RipStock is CMMG's quick-deploy buttstock mounted on their 6-position Fastback receiver extension. You set your preferred length of pull once, then to deploy it you simply pull the stock straight back to your shoulder and it locks into your preset position automatically. It's a fast, intuitive system that skips the usual lever fiddling.
Yes, the Mk4 platform is built to standard AR-15 spec, so it accepts common STANAG-pattern magazines like the included Magpul PMAG along with virtually all aftermarket AR-15 triggers, grips, stocks, and accessories. That makes it easy to customize down the road or keep spare parts on hand.
For a 16.1 inch barrel, a mid-length gas system is a great match. It lengthens the dwell time and softens the recoil impulse, which means smoother cycling, less felt recoil, and generally reduced wear on internal parts. Most experienced AR owners prefer mid-length gas on 16 inch barrels for exactly these reasons.
