The .350 Legend cartridge earned its following fast with deer hunters, and it is easy to see why. It hits harder downrange than a .30-30 while kicking noticeably less than a .450 Bushmaster, which makes it a great fit for whitetail, hogs, and anyone who wants real terminal performance without getting beat up at the bench. CMMG built the Resolute MK4 around that cartridge from the ground up, not as an afterthought, and the result is one of the more refined semi-auto .350 Legend rifles out there.
The 16.1 inch medium taper barrel is machined from 4140 chrome moly steel with a 1:16 twist that stabilizes the full range of .350 Legend bullet weights, from lighter varmint loads up to heavy 180 grain hunting bullets. The muzzle wears CMMG's ZEROED brake on standard 1/2×28 threads, and the carbine length gas system with a .750 inch gas block keeps the action cycling smoothly. Up top you get a billet 6061 upper mated to a forged 7075 MK4 lower, and the whole rifle comes dressed in Cerakote Midnight Bronze that looks as good in the field as it does in the safe.
CMMG's ZEROED parts come standard here, including an ambi charging handle, ambi safety, pistol grip, and trigger guard, so lefties are covered without any aftermarket work. The EML15 M-LOK handguard trims weight by skipping a full length top rail while still giving you attachment slots at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock for lights, bipods, and sling mounts. The six position RipStock snaps to your preferred length of pull with a quick tug, which is handy when you are layered up in November. No, this rifle ships without sights. The upper receiver has a Picatinny rail section on top, so you can mount a scope, red dot, or backup irons of your choosing. Most folks running .350 Legend for deer put a low power variable scope or a red dot with a magnifier on it.
The 1:16 twist was chosen specifically to stabilize the full spread of .350 Legend loads, from lighter practice ammo up through 180 grain hunting bullets. Popular deer loads in the 145 to 180 grain range shoot well through this barrel. It gives you flexibility to find the load your rifle likes without worrying about stability issues.
Yes. This model ships with one 10-round magazine, and CMMG offers .350 Legend magazines in 5, 10, and 20 round capacities. Keep in mind .350 Legend requires caliber-specific magazines, so standard 5.56 mags will not feed it reliably.
It is a great one. The cartridge carries roughly 900 foot pounds of energy at 200 yards, which is plenty for clean, ethical shots on whitetail, and it does it with noticeably less recoil than rounds like the .450 Bushmaster. Pair it with a quality 150 to 180 grain hunting bullet and this carbine is well suited for stand hunting, brush country, and hog work.
