The .45 ACP is where CMMG's Radial Delayed Blowback story started back in 2017, and this Banshee MkG is that idea boiled down to its most packable form. Instead of leaning on a heavy bolt and stiff buffer the way straight blowback guns do, the rotating bolt delays the action just long enough to tame the big .45 impulse. The payoff is less reciprocating mass, noticeably softer felt recoil, and a gun that weighs in around 4.8 pounds instead of feeling like a boat anchor. Add the Zeroed linear compensator pushing gases forward off the muzzle and follow-up shots stay flat and quick.
Magazines are one of the smartest parts of the whole MkG platform. It runs Glock-pattern .45 ACP mags, so spares are affordable, easy to find, and proven. One 13-round magazine ships in the box, giving you 13+1 on tap. The 5 inch barrel is 4140CM steel with a 1:16 twist that stabilizes heavy .45 bullets just fine, and the threaded muzzle means you can swap the comp for a suppressor down the road. With subsonic ammo being the default for .45 ACP, this platform and a can get along famously.
CMMG doesn't nickel and dime you on furniture. The Zeroed package comes standard: single-stage trigger, ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety with a shorter throw, ambi charging handle, pistol grip, and bolt catch. The RipBrace deploys with one quick pull so you're not fumbling with adjustment levers when seconds matter, and the EML4 handguard gives you M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock plus an integrated handstop.
The upper and lower are aluminum with an Armor Black Cerakote finish, and the full-length Picatinny top rail arrives bare, so plan on adding a red dot or backup irons before your first range trip. Between the compact footprint, mild manners, and CMMG's lifetime quality guarantee, this is a big-bore PDW that's genuinely fun to run.
The MkG platform is built around Glock-pattern .45 ACP magazines, and one 13-round mag comes in the box. That's a big plus since Glock 21 pattern mags are widely available, reasonably priced, and known for reliability. Extended aftermarket options work too if you want more capacity on hand.

Straight blowback guns rely on a heavy bolt and stiff buffer to contain the cartridge, which makes them clunky and harsh shooting, especially in .45 ACP. CMMG's Radial Delayed Blowback uses a rotating bolt to briefly delay the action, allowing a much lighter bolt carrier and buffer. The result is softer felt recoil, less muzzle movement, and a lighter gun overall.
Very much so. The 5 inch barrel is threaded, so you can remove the factory linear compensator and mount a .45 caliber suppressor. Since standard .45 ACP loads are already subsonic, it's one of the best calibers out there for quiet shooting without buying specialty ammo.
