There is no shortage of AR-style pistols out there, but very few of them ditch the buffer tube entirely. The CMMG Dissent MkG does exactly that. By using CMMG's Compact Action with Radial Delayed Blowback and a fixed ejector, the whole recoil system lives up front, which chops the overall length down to a genuinely stowable 15.7 inches. You get real .45 ACP performance in a package that fits places a standard AR pistol never will, and the lighter bolt carrier group takes a noticeable edge off felt recoil while cycling consistently across a wide range of loads.
The controls are where this thing really shines. A forward mounted, non-reciprocating side charging handle lets you run the action without breaking your grip or coming off target, and it swaps to either side depending on how you like to run it. The Zeroed ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety and Zeroed drop-in single stage trigger round out a control setup that feels thought through rather than tacked on. Out back, a Picatinny rail end plate is ready to accept sling mounts and other compatible accessories.
The 6.5 inch medium taper barrel is chrome moly steel with a Black Nitride finish, threaded at the muzzle and topped with a Zeroed linear compensator that pushes blast forward and helps keep the muzzle flat. The aluminum receiver wears a Coyote Tan Cerakote finish, and the 5.5 inch M-LOK handguard with full length top Picatinny rail gives you plenty of real estate for a red dot, light, or hand stop. Feeding comes from double stack Glock pattern .45 ACP magazines, so spares are affordable and easy to find, and CMMG ships two 13 rounders in the box.
