This is CMC's two-stage curved drop-in unit for the AR-15 and AR-10, factory-tuned to roughly a 2-pound take-up with a 4-pound release. The whole assembly lives inside a sealed housing, so the hammer, sear, disconnector, and springs stay protected from carbon and grit that normally collect in an open lower.
The curved bow gives you that traditional finger feel most folks grew up with, and the two-stage design lets you take up the slack, feel the wall, then break the shot clean. There is no creep before the hammer drops and no grittiness through the pull, which is exactly what you want for precision work or a designated marksman build. CMC machines the engagement surfaces to tight tolerances and builds the trigger and sear from S7 tool steel inside an alloy steel housing, so it holds up over a long service life. A rocket wire hammer spring keeps lock time short and reliable with commercial or military grade ammo.
Installation is about as painless as it gets. You separate the upper from the lower, set the one-piece unit into the trigger pocket, slide the supplied oversized pins through, and snug the retaining screws. Keep in mind this is the small pin (.154) version, which fits the vast majority of AR lowers built after 2009 and any non-Colt receiver.
The pull is preset at the factory and not user adjustable, which is a good thing here since you get a consistent, repeatable break every time without fiddling with tension screws. It is a straightforward way to make an accurate rifle shoot even better, and it is proudly made in Texas.
This is the small pin version with a .154 pin diameter, which fits standard mil-spec receivers and any non-Colt AR built after 2009. If you have a Colt made between 1991 and late 2009, you likely need the large pin (.172) version instead. It also does not fit Colt rifles equipped with a sear block, so check your lower before ordering.
