The .22 Magnum runs flatter and hits harder than .22 LR, roughly doubling your practical range on small game and varmints. It's a better pick if you plan to use the rifle for pest control or hunting rather than pure plinking. The trade-off is a 10+1 capacity instead of 15+1 and pricier ammo, but for a working trail gun the extra performance is worth it.
It uses a classic under-barrel tubular magazine with a brass inner tube. Twist and withdraw the inner tube by the knurled knob, drop rounds into the loading port nose-first, then reinsert and lock the tube. It holds 10 rounds of .22 WMR plus one in the chamber.
