Description

Chiappa built the 92 Core around a simple idea: take the proven 1892 lever action, keep it clean and traditional where it counts, and add the handful of modern touches people keep asking for. New to the Wildlands series, this one runs .44 Magnum through a 16.5 inch hammer forged barrel with an 8+1 capacity, and the whole package stays short, quick to the shoulder, and easy to carry through thick timber all day. The muzzle comes threaded 5/8×24 from the factory, so hanging a suppressor or muzzle device on it takes minutes, not a trip to a gunsmith.

Why the 92 Core's Angle Eject Matters

Anyone who has tried to scope a traditional top eject lever gun knows the headache. The 92 Core solves it with Chiappa's angle eject system, which kicks empties out at an angle instead of straight up. The receiver is drilled and tapped, so you can add scope rings or a Picatinny rail and mount a red dot or low power scope right over the action. Out of the box you get a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable buckhorn rear, a setup that works just fine at the woods distances the .44 Mag was made for. The lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum receiver also keeps the rifle from wearing you out on long carries.

Walnut Looks, M-LOK Function

The oiled walnut stock and forend give this rifle a look that fits right in at deer camp, but Chiappa worked three M-LOK slots into the forend so you can add a light, sling mount, or bipod without bolting on a rail that ruins the lines. A rubber buttplate takes some sting out of hot magnum loads, and the exposed hammer with half cock gives you the same handling lever gun folks have trusted for generations.

A Working Chiappa Lever Gun for the Field

Between the compact barrel, right side loading gate, smooth cycling action, and honest capacity, the 92 Core makes a great brush rifle, hog gun, or ranch companion. Made in Italy with the fit and finish Chiappa is known for, it earns its spot behind the truck seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount an optic on the Chiappa 92 Core?

Yes, and that's one of the biggest selling points. The angle eject action throws spent brass out at an angle instead of straight up, so nothing gets in the way of a scope or red dot mounted over the receiver. The receiver comes drilled and tapped for scope rings or a Picatinny rail, though the rail itself is sold separately.

Is the barrel on the 92 Core threaded for a suppressor?

It is. The 16.5 inch hammer forged barrel comes threaded 5/8×24 from the factory, which is the standard pitch for most .44 and .45 caliber suppressors and muzzle devices. A suppressed .44 Mag lever gun makes a genuinely pleasant woods rifle, especially with heavier loads.

What is the Chiappa 92 Core best suited for?

This is a woods and brush country rifle through and through. The .44 Magnum out of a 16.5 inch barrel handles deer and hogs at typical timber distances, and the compact length makes it easy to maneuver in thick cover or keep handy on a ranch or property. With 8+1 capacity and quick handling, it pulls double duty as a truck gun without issue.

Does the 92 Core still look like a traditional lever gun with those M-LOK slots?

It does. Chiappa machined three M-LOK slots directly into the oiled walnut forend, so the rifle keeps its classic profile instead of wearing a bulky aluminum handguard. You can add a light, bipod, or sling mount when you need one and leave the slots empty when you don't, and from a few feet away it reads as a traditional walnut lever action.
