Charter Arms took two of its most popular wheelguns, the .357 Magnum Mag Pug and the 9mm Pit Bull, and rolled them into one package called the Double Dog. This model 13920 ships with both cylinders, and swapping between them takes about a minute with nothing more than the crane screw on the front of the frame. That means one revolver covers .357 Magnum, .38 Special, and 9mm, which is handy when ammo prices swing or when you want cheap 9mm practice with the same gun you carry loaded with magnums.

Charter's patented extraction system uses spring-loaded studs in the extractor star that grab each case at the extraction groove, so rimless 9mm rounds load and eject like rimmed cartridges. Both cylinders have their calibers laser engraved right on them, so there's never any question about which one is in the gun, and Charter tosses in extra crane screw washers to keep swaps worry free down the road.
The 2.2 inch barrel is ported on both sides of the rib to tame muzzle flip, with diamond cuts machined into the full underlug for a bit of style and weight savings. The frame, barrel, and cylinders are stainless steel dressed in a matte black passivate finish, and checkered walnut boot grips fill the hand without printing under a cover garment. At around 22 ounces with a five round capacity, fixed sights, and a traditional double action/single action trigger with exposed hammer, it carries like a classic snubbie should. A transfer bar keeps the firing system inert until the trigger is pulled through.

With the gun unloaded and the action open, remove the crane screw on the front of the frame just below the barrel, slide the cylinder and crane assembly out, drop in the other one, and retighten the screw.
