Charter took their proven snub-nose platform and paired it with a cartridge known for mild recoil, so you get wheelgun simplicity without the sharper kick you'd feel from lightweight .38 Special snubs. The frame is machined from 7075 aluminum with a pink anodized finish, while the 2 inch barrel and five-shot cylinder are 416 stainless steel with a high polish that plays off the pink nicely. At roughly a pound, it disappears into a purse holster, waistband rig, or jacket pocket.
The barrel porting is the standout feature here. Combined with the naturally gentle .380 cartridge, those ports vent gas upward to fight muzzle rise, keeping the front sight settled between shots. That front sight happens to be a HiViz LitePipe, which gathers light and gives you a bright aiming point that's far easier to pick up than a plain ramp. The finger-grooved rubber grips fill the hand well and soak up what little recoil is left, making this one of the more pleasant snub-nose revolvers to practice with.
As an Off Duty model, this Coyote uses a fully concealed hammer. There's nothing to catch on clothing during the draw, and you can even fire it from inside a coat pocket in a pinch. Since .380 ACP is a rimless cartridge, the cylinder loads via moon clips, and Charter includes two TK Customs clips in the box. They speed up reloads considerably, and spares are easy to find if you want a few loaded and ready.

Noticeably softer. The .380 ACP produces less recoil than .38 Special to begin with, and the ported barrel on the Coyote vents gas upward to cut muzzle flip even further. That combination makes this one of the easiest snub-nose revolvers to shoot well, especially for newer or recoil-sensitive folks.
