Take the ergonomics that made the original SFx Rival a match-winner, swap the polymer for a full steel frame, and you get the Rival-S. At around 42.7 ounces, this pistol has serious heft, and that weight is the whole point. The muzzle stays planted, dot movement settles quickly between shots, and 9mm starts to feel downright soft. The chrome finish with black controls looks sharp on the table and holds up well to heavy range use.
The 5 inch barrel gives you a long sight radius and full-size balance, while the ported, aggressively serrated slide helps keep things flat under recoil. The 90 degree aluminum flat-face trigger breaks clean and consistent, which is exactly what you want when you are trying to shave tenths off a stage. Ambidextrous controls, forward indexing points, aggressive grip texture, and a flared competition magwell round out a feature list that reads like a custom build sheet. Three backstrap sizes and three magazine release extensions let you dial the fit to your hand instead of adapting your grip to the gun.
This package comes with the MeCanik MO2 reflex sight, a 3 MOA red dot with simple manual brightness controls that works well for both match use and general range time. The optic cut supports full co-witness with the fiber optic front and adjustable rear irons, so you keep a sighting solution even if a battery quits mid-match. Multiple optic plates are included if you want to mount a different dot down the road.
Canik does not skimp on the extras. Inside the water-resistant travel case you get two 18-round magazines, aluminum base plates, a mag loader, a fitted holster, a cleaning kit, and a punch and tool kit. Very few pistols show up this ready to shoot a match the same weekend you bring them home.
The big change is the frame. The Rival-S swaps the polymer frame for all steel, pushing the weight to roughly 42.7 ounces while keeping the same ergonomics that made the original a hit. That extra mass soaks up recoil noticeably, which means less muzzle rise and quicker follow-up shots.

It was built with competition in mind, but the soft recoil, clean flat trigger, and 18+1 capacity make it a fantastic general range pistol as well. The steel frame weight makes long practice sessions easy on the hands. Just know it is a full-size, heavy pistol, so it is happiest on the range or in a match, not riding in a carry holster all day.
It ships with two 18-round Canik full-size magazines plus aluminum base plates and a speed loader in the kit. It runs standard Canik full-size mags, which are affordable and easy to find, so building up a match-day supply will not break the bank.
