Canik took the proven ergonomics of the award-winning SFx Rival, rebuilt it around a forged steel frame, finished it in deep black, and then dressed it in textured rosewood grips that give this version a classic, refined character you don't often see on a modern competition gun.
The 5-inch barrel and ported, serrated slide keep the muzzle settled during rapid strings, while the flat-faced aluminum trigger breaks at 90 degrees for a clean, consistent press. A fiber optic front sight and click-adjustable rear give you genuinely usable irons from day one, and the optic-ready slide accepts a wide range of red dot footprints, including Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Delta Point Pro, and Vortex Venom patterns, using the included mounting plates. Ambidextrous controls, forward indexing points, an undercut trigger guard, and aggressive grip texture round out a package clearly built with match performance in mind.
Canik has earned a reputation for generous accessory kits, and this one delivers. The water-resistant travel case holds two 18-round magazines, aluminum base plates, a competition magwell, a mag loader, a holster, interchangeable backstraps, magazine release extensions, and a punch, tool, and cleaning kit. That means you can show up to your first USPSA or steel match without a shopping list.

The slide comes optic ready and ships with mounting plates covering several popular footprints. It works with the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Leupold Delta Point Pro, Vortex Venom, and Canik's own MeCanik optics, among others. The mounting system is designed to allow co-witness with the factory iron sights.
The biggest change is the frame. The standard Rival uses a polymer frame and weighs around 29.5 ounces, while the Rival-S swaps in a forged steel frame that brings the weight up to about 43 ounces. That extra heft noticeably reduces muzzle flip and felt recoil, which pays off in faster follow-up shots during matches and long range sessions.
That's exactly what it was built for. The 5-inch barrel, 18+1 capacity, flat-faced aluminum trigger, and included competition magwell make it well suited for USPSA, IDPA, and steel matches. Since the kit includes a holster, mag loader, and spare magazine, you can head to your first match without buying much else.
