The MonoLock hinge is the heart of this gun. It spreads the pivot load over more surface area than a traditional trunnion setup while keeping the action noticeably shallower, so the gun sits lower in your hands and muzzle flip stays tame. Browning's Reverse Striker mechanical trigger fires the second barrel even if the first shell fails to go off, a real advantage on a cold morning with a limit working the decoys. Lock time is quick, the pull is crisp, and impact ejectors kick fired hulls clear so reloads happen fast. Back-bored barrels, Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones, and a chrome-lined bore round out the plumbing for dense patterns and easy cleanup.

Yes, this model is chambered for 3.5 inch 12 gauge shells, so it will run everything from light target loads up to heavy magnum goose loads. The Inflex recoil pad and the gun's roughly 7.4 pound weight do a good job of taming the big stuff, and the back-bored barrels and lengthened forcing cones help patterns stay consistent across load types.
It ships with three extended Invector-Plus goose band choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The extended design makes swaps quick without a wrench, and the Invector-Plus pattern gives you access to a huge aftermarket if you want specialty waterfowl or turkey chokes down the road.
The Cynergy uses a MonoLock hinge instead of the Citori's traditional full-width hinge pin, which allows a much lower receiver profile and puts your hands closer to the bore line for less muzzle flip. It also runs a Reverse Striker mechanical trigger with a very fast lock time, and the second barrel fires even if the first shell misfires. Think of it as Browning's modern take on the over/under rather than a replacement for the classic.
That's exactly what it was built for. The Burnt Bronze Cerakote on the barrels and receiver is a ceramic-based coating with excellent corrosion resistance, the composite stock won't swell or crack like wood, and the bore is chrome-lined for easy cleanup. A quick wipe down after wet hunts is still smart practice, but this gun tolerates rough conditions far better than a blued and walnut double.
