The Citori name has been the backbone of Browning's over under lineup for decades, and the 825 Sporting is the most refined version of it yet. This 12 gauge wears 30 inch matte blued barrels with 3 inch chrome-plated chambers, hung on the same full-width hinge pin and tapered locking lug setup that has kept Citoris breaking clays for generations. The low-profile receiver drops the bore line closer to your shoulder, which does two things you will notice right away: the gun swings flatter and recoil comes straight back instead of flipping the muzzle. At 7 pounds 10 ounces, it carries enough weight up front to smooth out your swing without feeling like a boat anchor by station twelve.
The big news is the Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger. Unlike inertia triggers that need recoil from the first shot to set the second, this one fires both barrels regardless, with a crisp break and short travel. Browning's Triple Trigger System includes three interchangeable shoes so you can dial in reach to fit your hand. The tang safety and barrel selector got slimmed down, the top lever geometry was improved, and the forearm latch is easier to grab, small refinements that add up over a long day of shooting. Up top, a low-post floating rib with ventilated top and side ribs keeps heat shimmer off your sight picture, capped with a HiViz Pro Comp fiber optic front and ivory mid bead.
The Grade III/IV walnut stock wears a gloss oil finish with a close radius pistol grip and palm swell, and the Inflex recoil pad takes the sting out of high-volume days. Five extended Invector-DS choke tubes come in the box, Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet, so you are set for any presentation on the course. And with a 50/50 point of impact, this one is just as happy chasing roosters in November as it is grinding through a hundred-target course in July.

That spread covers everything from close skeet birds to long sporting clays crossers right out of the box. Keep in mind Invector-DS is its own thread pattern, so standard Invector and Invector-Plus tubes will not interchange.
It is built first for sporting clays and skeet, but the 50/50 point of impact and 3 inch chambers make it a legitimate dual-purpose gun. Plenty of folks shoot clays with it all summer and then carry it for pheasants and doves in the fall. At around 7.6 pounds it is heavier than a dedicated field gun, but that weight is what makes it swing so smoothly.

Yes, the chrome-plated chambers are cut for 3 inch shells and run 2-3/4 inch target loads all day. Most clays work will be done with 2-3/4 inch loads, but having the 3 inch chambers gives you room for heavier field loads when hunting season rolls around.
