Golden Clays has always been Browning's way of saying top shelf, and the Citori 825 Golden Clays Sporting keeps that tradition alive. The Grade V/VI walnut wears a gloss oil finish with traditional point pattern checkering and a palm swell, and the silver nitride receiver carries deep scroll engraving with gold accents. It looks like a gun you would keep behind glass, but every feature on it is built for breaking targets. The 825 platform brings a lower profile receiver than the 725 it follows, which drops the bore line closer to your shoulder for a flatter swing, less muzzle rise, and quicker second shots.
This is where the Golden Clays Sporting separates itself from the standard 825. The Pro Fit adjustable comb lets you dial in your eye right down the rib, and the Pro Balance System means you can tune the balance point to match your swing style, whether you like a little more weight up front for long crossers or a livelier feel between the hands. Add the Triple Trigger System with three interchangeable trigger shoes and you have a shotgun you can genuinely tailor instead of adapt to. The Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger is crisp and light, and since it does not rely on recoil to set the second barrel, it runs fine with soft training loads.
The 32 inch gloss blued barrels are back-bored with 3 inch chrome plated chambers, topped with a ventilated rib, HiViz Pro Comp fiber optic front sight, and a white mid-bead. Ventilated side ribs shed heat on long station days. Five extended Invector-DS choke tubes come in the box, Full through Skeet, so you are covered from tight ones to in-your-face report pairs. The 50/50 point of impact shoots flat and true, and an Inflex II recoil pad takes the sting out of a full day of registered targets. Underneath it all is the same full-width hinge pin and tapered locking lug that has kept Citoris tight through generations of hard use. The Golden Clays is the upgrade package. You get higher grade V/VI walnut instead of Grade III/IV, gold-accented engraving on the receiver, gloss blued barrels, plus the Pro Fit adjustable comb and Pro Balance System so you can fine-tune fit and balance. The standard Sporting shares the same action and trigger but with a fixed comb and plainer wood.

Yes, and that is one of the strengths of the Fire Lite 2 trigger. Because it is mechanical rather than inertia driven, the second barrel does not depend on recoil to reset, so soft 7/8 oz and one ounce training loads fire both barrels without a hiccup. Browning also improved pull weights over the previous 725 trigger.
