There's a reason old timers call the 16 gauge the Gentleman's Gauge. It carries like a 20, hits closer to a 12, and patterns beautifully in a well-built gun. Browning leaned into that with this A5 Wicked Wing Sweet Sixteen, building it on a smaller, lighter receiver instead of just sleeving a 12 gauge frame. The result is a recoil-operated autoloader that comes in right around six pounds, swings like it reads your mind, and still throws a payload that folds birds with authority.
The heart of the gun is Browning's Kinematic Drive system, a short-recoil action that uses the energy of the shot to cycle the bolt instead of bleeding gas out of the barrel. That means a cleaner action, less gunk after a long season, and cycling that stays consistent in cold, wet, muddy duck weather. Browning is confident enough in it to back the A5 with a 100,000 round, five year guarantee. The famous humpback receiver isn't just nostalgia either. It stretches the sight plane so your eye settles naturally down the flat rib to the fiber optic front sight and ivory mid bead.
This is the waterfowl-dressed version of the Sweet Sixteen, and it shows. The receiver and 28 inch barrel wear Burnt Bronze Cerakote, the composite stock and forearm are wrapped in Realtree Legacy camo, and the bolt and shell carrier get a nickel Teflon coating for slick, corrosion-resistant operation. The chamber and bore are chromed, the bolt release and handle are oversized for gloved hands, and the three extended Invector-DS chokes are styled after leg bands, which is a fun detail that also makes swapping constrictions quick in the field.
Between the shim-adjustable stock, the Inflex recoil pad, and the naturally soft-shooting 16 gauge chambering, this is a gun the whole family can run comfortably. Not really, and that surprises a lot of people. The Kinematic Drive action soaks up a good chunk of recoil energy to cycle the bolt, and the Inflex recoil pad handles much of the rest. Combine that with the naturally mild 16 gauge chambering and you get a gun that's comfortable for long volume days at the clays range or in the blind, even for smaller-framed hunters.
It ships with three extended Invector-DS choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. These are the Goose Band style tubes with a banded look inspired by waterfowl leg bands, and since they're extended you can change them quickly by hand in the field. Any Invector-DS 16 gauge tube will fit if you want to add more constrictions later.

Yes. The composite stock includes a shim adjustment system that lets you tweak length of pull, cast, and drop so the gun mounts naturally to your face and shoulder. Out of the box it comes set at a 14-1/4 inch length of pull, which fits most adults well, but the shims give you room to fine tune it.
