Yes, the A5 Ultimate is rated for steel shot. The barrel features back-bored technology and the Invector-DS choke system, and Browning approves steel shot use through the Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes included with the gun. As with any shotgun, avoid using steel shot through the Full choke, and stick to factory-recommended loads for best pattern performance.
The shim kit lets you change the cast (lateral angle) and drop (vertical angle) of the stock to better fit your individual shooting stance, which helps with consistent cheek weld and point of impact. Length of pull can also be changed using the included 1/4" and 1/2" spacers.
