The Cynergy has always been the over/under that does things a little differently, and this full camo version leans into that. Browning wrapped the whole gun, steel receiver, 30 inch vent rib barrels, and synthetic stock, in Mossy Oak Bottomland, which is about as good as it gets for blending into flooded timber or a spring turkey setup. Underneath the camo is the same MonoLock hinge design that gives the Cynergy its famously low profile, so the gun sits deeper in your hands and swings with less muzzle flip than taller-framed stack barrels.
The 3.5 inch chambers give you room to run heavy waterfowl loads when the situation calls for it, and the Inflex recoil pad does real work soaking up the punishment those shells dish out. Sling swivel studs come installed, which is a small thing until you're hiking into a marsh with a bag of decoys over your shoulder. The composite stock shrugs off weather that would have a walnut gun looking rough by the end of the season, and the adjustable comb means you can set your cheek weld exactly where you want it instead of adapting to a fixed dimension.
Browning's Reverse Striker ignition system is one of the quieter selling points here. It's a mechanical trigger, so the second barrel fires whether or not the first shell goes off, and the break is crisp with minimal overtravel. You also get three knurled, extended Invector-Plus choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, so you can swap constrictions by hand without digging for a wrench. An ivory front bead with a mid-bead keeps your eye lined up down the rib.
A two-shot break action might sound limiting to hunters raised on autoloaders, but there's a lot to be said for a gun with two chokes ready at once and nothing to jam in freezing weather. This Cynergy handles like a much lighter gun, hides like part of the tree line, and fits like it was built for you once the comb is set. It's a workhorse with pedigree.
Yes, this model is chambered for 3.5 inch 12 gauge shells, so it will run the big magnum waterfowl loads along with standard 2.75 and 3 inch shells. The Inflex recoil pad takes a noticeable edge off the heavy stuff, and the extra weight of an over/under helps tame recoil compared to lighter pump guns.
The big one is the MonoLock hinge, which lets Browning build the receiver with an unusually low profile, so the gun points naturally and pivots on far more surface area than typical trunnion designs. It also uses the Reverse Striker mechanical trigger, which gives a crisp break with fast lock time and fires the second barrel regardless of whether the first shell ignited.
The synthetic stock has a comb piece that can be raised or lowered to change where your cheek rests, which changes how your eye lines up with the rib. Getting that alignment right means the gun shoots where you look, and it's especially handy if you wear a heavier jacket in cold weather or share the gun between different shooters in camp.
It pulls double duty nicely. The full Mossy Oak Bottomland coverage is a favorite pattern for both timber waterfowl and spring turkey woods, and the included extended Full choke tightens patterns for longer shots on gobblers. Swap to the Improved Cylinder or Modified tube and you're set up for birds over decoys.
