The Black Rain Ordnance We The People wears a blue battleworn Cerakote finish over a forged Spec 15 receiver set with deep 'We The People' engraving cut right into the aluminum. It comes from Black Rain's Spec+ series, which is the company's way of offering custom-shop style without the custom-shop wait.
Looks aside, the fundamentals here are solid. The 16 inch 4150V chrome moly barrel with a 1:7 twist stabilizes everything from light 55 grain plinking loads to heavier 77 grain match bullets, and it's chambered for .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO so you can feed it whatever's on the shelf. A direct impingement gas system runs through a .750 low-profile gas block, and the salt bath nitride coated bolt carrier group resists wear and wipes clean easier than phosphate. A castle-style flash suppressor caps the muzzle, and the mil-spec trigger gives you that familiar GI feel with plenty of room to upgrade down the road if you want.
The 15 inch slim free-float M-LOK handguard covers nearly the full barrel, so there's real estate for a light, hand stop, sling mount, or whatever else your setup calls for, all without adding bulk where your support hand lives. Magpul MOE furniture rounds things out, with a comfortable grip and an adjustable carbine stock that fits shooters of different sizes or changes with a plate carrier. At 34 inches overall and around 7.5 pounds empty, it swings easily and won't wear you out over a long range day. One 30-round magazine ships with the rifle, so you're ready to zero an optic and get to work. It's a dependable carbine that happens to look great doing it, whether that's on the bench, in a photo, or hanging on the wall between range trips.
