Black Rain Ordnance built their name on AR-platform rifles and Cerakote work, and the Frontline+ shows they brought that same attention to detail to the handgun world. At its core, this is a Glock 19 Gen3-compatible compact, which means you get a massively deep aftermarket for parts, holsters, and accessories right from day one. But BRO didn't just slap a coat of paint on a Glock clone. The ported barrel and slide work together to bleed off gas at the muzzle, which helps flatten out recoil and keeps the front end from jumping as much on follow-up shots. Combined with the deeply undercut trigger guard that lets you ride your grip high, the Frontline+ genuinely feels more controlled than a stock Glock 19 in the same shooter's hands.
The slide on this pistol is doing a lot of work. It's cut for an RMR footprint so you can mount a micro red dot without sending it off to a machinist, it runs front and rear serrations for positive grip when you're racking fast or running press checks, and the beveled edges help with holster presentation. The AmeriGlo tritium front sight is a real selling point here too. That glowing green dot is usable in low light without any batteries, and it pairs cleanly with the blacked-out rear. A lot of competitors at this price point ship guns with basic white-dot irons. BRO didn't cut that corner.
The Battleworn Burnt Bronze Cerakote isn't just a cosmetic choice. Cerakote is legitimately one of the most durable firearm finishes available, resistant to corrosion, wear, and the kind of abuse that comes with regular carry. The Battleworn treatment adds a purposeful, multi-toned weathered look that reads as tactical without going over the top. Black Rain is one of the largest Cerakote applicators in the country, so the finish work here isn't farmed out. Worth noting that this pistol comes with a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail under the dust cover, so a light or laser is a quick add when you're ready for it. The included Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 magazine is a solid bonus too since GL9 mags are widely available and affordable if you want to stack up spares.
Because the Frontline+ is built on a Glock 19 Gen3-compatible platform, most holsters designed for the Glock 19 Gen3 will fit it. Leather holsters typically work without any modification. Some rigid duty or retention holsters may fit differently due to BRO's slide serrations and ported barrel, so it's worth confirming fit before committing to a specific kydex option.
The Frontline+ is not designed for use with a suppressor since the ports vent gas before a suppressor can capture it. Standard 9mm and +P ammunition are both compatible with the pistol, but running +P+ is generally not recommended in compact guns of this type unless the manufacturer specifically approves it.
The slide is cut to an RMR footprint, which means any optic using the Trijicon RMR mounting pattern will drop right in. That covers a wide range of popular micro red dots including the Trijicon RMR and SRO, Holosun 507C and 508T, and several others that share the same two-screw pattern.
The Frontline+ uses the same GL9 magazine pattern, so standard Glock 19 magazines and compatible aftermarket options will function in it. The included Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 is a great baseline, and additional GL9 mags are widely available and easy to find.
Cerakote is one of the most wear and corrosion-resistant finishes applied to firearms, and Black Rain is one of the largest Cerakote applicators in the country. The Battleworn aesthetic is a layered application, so light surface wear over time won't look out of place the way it would on a standard solid-color gun. It holds up well to holster wear, moisture, and regular handling.
The Frontline+ upgrades over the base Frontline model with a ported slide and barrel for reduced muzzle rise, the RMR optic cut on the slide, and the optimized beavertail. The base Frontline shares the same Gen3-compatible platform and ergonomic undercut but does not include the porting or the optic cut as standard features.
