The Medallion takes everything that makes the base model great and steps up the aesthetics considerably. At 34 ounces with the 5.5-inch barrel, there's enough weight up front to soak up the negligible recoil of .22 LR and settle back on target fast.
The slabside stainless barrel is the centerpiece of this model. It runs matte black on the curves with polished silver on the flats, and that contrast against the warm rosewood grips gives it a look that stands out in any gun rack. The Medallion does not come with a built-in Picatinny rail, but the top strap of the receiver accepts Browning's optional scope base, which installs in place of the stock top strap using the existing screws. It is a straightforward upgrade that opens the door to a wide range of red dots and compact scopes.
The Medallion is essentially the premium-looking version of the standard Buck Mark lineup. It is one of the better options out there for someone still building fundamentals.
