There are trap guns you shoot, and there are trap guns people walk over to look at between rounds. The Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap manages to be both. Browning took the redesigned 825 platform, with its lower profile receiver and full-width hinge pin, and finished it out with deep-relief scroll engraving accented in gold, a silver nitride finish, and Grade V/VI walnut that makes standard trap stocks look plain. The wood carries a gloss finish, a raised Monte Carlo comb, and sharp checkering, so the elegance holds up under close inspection.

Built for Long Days on the Trap Line

Where the Golden Clays version really separates itself from the standard 825 Trap is behind the receiver. Instead of the usual Inflex pad, you get the GraCoil recoil reduction system with a Pachmayr Decelerator XLT pad, which lets you tune felt recoil and length of pull to your build. Add the Graco adjustable comb and you can dial in your eye right down the rib without a trip to a stock fitter. Shooting a hundred plus targets on a summer registered shoot feels a whole lot different when the gun soaks up the punishment for you. At around 8.5 pounds with 32 inch barrels, it swings smooth and stays planted through the follow-through.

Citori 825 Golden Clays Barrel and Trigger Details

The gloss blued barrels wear ventilated top and side ribs with a HiViz Pro-Comp front sight and ivory mid bead for a clean, precise sight picture. Inside, you get Browning's Total Barrel Dynamics package: back-bored bores, Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones, and chrome-plated chambers, all feeding into five extended Invector-DS choke tubes including Full, Light Full, Modified, and two Improved Modified. The Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger breaks crisp with lighter pull weights than earlier Citori triggers and fires the second barrel without relying on recoil, so it runs fine with light practice loads. The 2.75 inch chambers, 14 3/8 inch length of pull, and 50 inch overall length round out a spec sheet that reads exactly like what a dedicated trap gun should be. This is the kind of over under that gets handed down, not traded in.
