Anyone who has run a suppressor hard knows the two big headaches: the mirage boiling off a hot can that wrecks your sight picture, and the very real chance of branding yourself or melting gear when you sling up. The Burn Proof Gear Heavy Suppressor Cover solves both. This 9.5 inch black cover is built for suppressors measuring 1.5 inches in diameter, and it uses aerospace and military grade fire retardant materials rather than the bargain-bin fabric you see on cheaper wraps.
The construction is a two-layer system. The outer shell is DuPont Kevlar in a diamond weave ripstop, rated to roughly 1400 degrees Fahrenheit, which works out to around 180 rounds of M855 fired through a can. Underneath sits a fiberglass mesh sleeve liner that shrugs off temperatures up to 2000 degrees. Together they knock down heat mirage for cleaner shots through a magnified optic, reduce your IR signature under night vision, and keep the outside of the cover far more manageable than bare stainless or titanium.
Burn Proof Gear cuts every cover a half inch longer than the suppressor it fits, so this 9.5 inch cover is intended for a can right around 9 inches long. That extra length lets the cinch system snug down around the front and rear of the suppressor for what BPG calls a no-slip fit, meaning it stays put instead of creeping forward toward the muzzle. Diameter matters here too. The Heavy line is made for suppressors that measure 1.5 inches on the nose, and with the cover installed the total package stays under 1.75 inches, so it will not turn your rifle into a boat anchor or foul handguards on most setups.
It works across calibers, from .223 and 300 BLK up through .308 and 7.62 NATO cans, and the weight stays light enough that you will forget it is there. For anyone running a longer suppressor on a precision rig, a duty rifle, or a hard-use trainer, this is one of the most proven covers on the market.
This cover is sized for suppressors right around 9 inches long with an outside diameter of exactly 1.5 inches. Burn Proof Gear builds every cover a half inch longer than the can so the cinch system can wrap around the front and rear for a secure fit. If your suppressor is wider than 1.5 inches or outside that length range, look at BPG's custom cover option instead.

Not when it's installed correctly. The cover cinches down at both the front and rear of the suppressor, which is what Burn Proof Gear calls their no-slip fit. If a cover walks forward during use, that's usually a sign it wasn't cinched properly or the suppressor diameter isn't a true 1.5 inches.
Very little. With the cover installed on a 1.5 inch diameter suppressor, the total diameter stays under 1.75 inches, and covers in this size range weigh only a few ounces. You get real mirage reduction and burn protection without noticeably changing how the rifle balances or handles.
