The Bore Tech V-Stix is a one-piece rifle cleaning rod that hits the sweet spot between quality and price. Sized for .22 caliber through 6.5mm barrels in a 36-inch working length, it uses a caliber-specific steel core that stays rigid and keeps bow and flex to a minimum while you work a patch or brush down the bore. That stiffness matters more than folks realize. A rod that whips and sags rubs against the lands and grooves, and over time that is how you wear out an accurate barrel. The V-Stix is built to track straight and stay put.
The steel core is wrapped in a high-performance coating that shrugs off solvents and bore cleaners, so it won't soften, peel, or let grit embed itself into the surface. That last part is the whole point of a coated rod. You want abrasive fouling to wipe off, not stick around and get dragged back through your rifling on the next pass.
Up top you get Bore Tech's ergonomic, free-floating ball bearing handle. It spins on its own as the jag follows the twist of the barrel, which means the rod tracks the rifling instead of fighting it. The handle is color coded by caliber so you can grab the right rod at a glance, and it is sized to fill your hand without banging into the rifle stock while you clean. The business end wears a barrel-safe, female-threaded brass ferrule that takes most standard jags, brushes, and adapters without extra hardware. Jags are sold separately, so pair it with your preferred Bore Tech jag or the accessories you already run. No, jags and brushes are sold separately. The V-Stix ships as the rod itself with its ball bearing handle and brass ferrule. The female-threaded brass tip accepts most standard jags, brushes, and adapters, so you can run the Bore Tech accessories you like or pair it with gear you already own.
The 36 inches is the working length of the rod and does not include the handle. Bore Tech measures rods this way so you know how far the cleaning end reaches into the barrel. Factor in your rifle's barrel length plus a little clearance for the jag to fully exit the muzzle when choosing a length.
It's built for centerfire .22 caliber (.223 to .224) up through 6.5mm (.264). The caliber-specific core is sized to move through those bores while staying rigid enough to follow the rifling. For .17 or .20 caliber, or larger bores like .270 and up, Bore Tech makes separate V-Stix rods sized for those calibers.
The V-Stix is the value-focused rod in the lineup, with a color-coded hard plastic ball bearing handle, a durable coating, and a brass tip.
