The rebounding hammer and retracting firing pins keep the pins off the rims until you deliberately cock and press the trigger, and the cross-bolt safety adds one more layer of control. This is where the .22 LR chambering shines. All that stainless steel soaks up what little recoil the round produces, so it's genuinely pleasant to shoot, and since nothing reciprocates you can take a high, steady grip that other pocket guns won't allow. Yes, with one caveat. The Stinger RS 22LR accepts other barrels from the Stinger RS series, so you can change calibers within that family. It is not compatible with barrels from the original aluminum-frame Stinger or Bond's larger big-bore derringer lines, so make sure any accessory barrel you pick up is specifically an RS barrel.
The original Stinger uses a lightweight aluminum frame, while the RS (Rough Series) is all stainless steel with a matte bead-blasted finish. No, this model ships with the slim textured nylon grips installed and does not include the rubber grip set that comes with some other Bond Arms models. The slim grips keep the overall width down, which is a big part of what makes this derringer so easy to conceal and pocket carry.
