The 2.5 inch double barrel setup gives you two rounds of 9mm Luger in a package just 4.5 inches long. At around 19 ounces, it has some heft to it, and that steel frame helps soak up recoil from a barrel this short. The break action design is about as simple as a firearm gets: press the spring-loaded locking lever, swing the barrels up, load, and close. A cross-bolt safety and single action trigger round out the controls, with a blade front sight and fixed rear notch handling aiming duties at the close ranges this gun was made for. That saves a lot of labor, which is why it costs noticeably less than models like the Texas Defender.
The 9mm barrel doesn't use an extractor since rimless auto cartridges don't give one anything to grab, so spent cases are plucked out by hand. Most owners find the rim of a fresh cartridge makes quick work of it. Bond Arms does rate their 9mm barrels for +P ammunition, so premium defensive loads are fair game.
