The Vickers Padded 2-Point Sling is the comfort-focused take on a design that pretty much set the standard for modern rifle slings. It was developed alongside Larry Vickers, a retired 1st SFOD-Delta member, and it earned its reputation the hard way: through years of real use by military and law enforcement folks who needed a sling that carries easy and gets out of the way fast. If you already know the standard VCAS and just want more shoulder comfort on long days, this is the one to grab.
The heart of it is the patented Quick Adjuster. Give the contrasting pull tab a tug and the sling shortens up to lock the rifle tight against your body for a stable shot. Feed slack back through and it opens right up so you can swing to your support side or drop into a hands-free carry. It all happens with one hand, and there's no loose tail flapping around or snagging on gear.
Running the length of the sling is 1.25" CORDURA webbing, with a 2" inline section of closed cell foam sitting where it counts across your shoulder and chest. That pad won't slide up and down the sling, and the closed cell foam doesn't soak up water or gain weight in the rain. Overall length adjusts across a wide range, so it fits carbines and full-size rifles whether you're running plates or just a t-shirt.
The adjuster and triglides are glass-reinforced DuPont Zytel nylon, which lays flat, stays light, and won't scratch up your rifle's finish. It's the same hardware BFG ships on many of its military slings. No, the sling ships on its own without sling swivels or QD mounts. The 1.25" webbing loops directly through sling swivels, buttstock slots, or fixed loops. If your rifle needs QD swivels or other mounts, you'll want to grab those separately to match your setup.
The padded version adds a 2" inline section of closed cell foam across the shoulder area for noticeably more comfort during long carries. It also has a slightly longer adjustment range than the standard unpadded VCAS. If you carry for extended periods or wear layers and armor, the padded model is the more comfortable pick.
