Black Rain Ordnance built their reputation on ARs, and when they moved into the handgun space with the Frontline, they brought the same mindset with them: take a proven platform and improve it without cutting corners. The Frontline is based on the Glock 19 Gen3 footprint, which means you get a time-tested action, familiar ergonomics, and access to a massive aftermarket, but with meaningful factory upgrades already done for you.
The stainless steel slide is optic-ready with an RMR-pattern cut, so mounting a Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507C, or any other RMR-footprint red dot is a straightforward swap. The slide is also serrated front and rear and beveled at the edges to help guide reloads faster under pressure. Up front, an AmeriGlo tritium night sight gives you a usable low-light reference point right out of the box, with the rear left blacked out to keep the dot clear when you eventually add an optic. This specific FDE/ODG variant pairs a Flat Dark Earth Cerakote frame with an Olive Drab Green Cerakote slide for a two-tone tactical look that holds up to daily wear.
The grip work is where the Frontline really separates itself from a stock Gen3. The undercut trigger guard lets your hand ride higher on the frame for better recoil control, the upgraded stippling keeps things secure across different conditions, and stainless steel retention pins add a touch of durability that the original platform lacks. A MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail sits under the dust cover for lights and lasers. The trigger runs a clean, predictable 5.5-pound pull, which works well for both defensive use and range training.
Weighing around 22.4 ounces with the included 15-round PMAG GL9 loaded, the Frontline is compact enough for daily carry while still feeling substantial in the hand. Black Rain backs it with a lifetime customer warranty, and because it runs on the Gen3 platform, replacement parts and aftermarket support are about as easy to find as anything in the handgun world.
The Frontline uses an RMR-pattern optic cut, which is one of the most widely supported footprints in the industry. Red dots with an RMR footprint, like the Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507C, and many others, mount directly once you remove the cover plate. It gives you a lot of options without needing any additional milling.
The Frontline is built on the Glock 19 Gen3 platform, so it uses GL9-pattern magazines, including the included Magpul PMAG 15 GL9. Many Glock 19 Gen3-compatible holsters will fit as well, though the optic cut and stippling may affect fitment with some options, so it is worth confirming before purchasing a holster.
This specific variant features a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) Cerakote on the polymer frame and an Olive Drab Green (ODG) Cerakote on the stainless steel slide. Cerakote is a polymer-ceramic coating that is resistant to corrosion, abrasion, and general wear, making it a solid choice for a daily carry pistol.
It ships with an AmeriGlo tritium front night sight, which gives you a glowing reference point in low-light conditions. The rear sight is blacked out, which works well if you plan to run a red dot since it keeps visual clutter to a minimum. If you prefer a full iron sight setup, the Gen3-compatible sight pattern means plenty of aftermarket options are available.

The Frontline runs on the same Gen3 Glock 19 footprint, so reliability and parts compatibility are very close. Where it differs is in the factory-installed upgrades: the undercut trigger guard, aggressive stippling, optic-ready stainless slide, beveled edges, and Cerakote finish are all things you would typically pay a gunsmith to add to a factory Glock. With the Frontline, that work is done from the manufacturer with the warranty intact.
