The Birchwood Casey Soft-Sided Range Cleaning Kit is built for folks who want a complete cleaning setup that tosses in a range bag without rattling around. It covers most popular rifle and handgun calibers with a well-rounded spread of brushes, jags, and picks, all tucked into a zippered nylon case with MOLLE webbing so you can strap it to a pack or keep it neat on the bench. Birchwood Casey has been in the gun care business since 1948, and this kit reflects the kind of no-nonsense, get-the-job-done approach they're known for.
Inside you'll find a pull-through cable, seven bore brushes, seven cleaning jags, a patch holder, four cleaning picks, four brass rod sections, a combo cleaning rod and pull-through handle, a utility brush, a cleaning brush, and two chamber brushes sized for .223/5.56 and .308/7.62. That chamber brush pairing is a nice touch for anyone running an AR-15 or a .308 platform, since carbon loves to hide in those chambers after a range session.
Having both a pull-through cable and screw-together brass rod sections gives you options depending on the gun and the mess. The cable is quick and travel-friendly for a fast pass after shooting, which is a smart move while the barrel is still warm and the fouling hasn't dried up. When you want more scrubbing control for a deeper clean at home, the rod sections thread together and let you work a jag or brush with a firmer feel. Between the two, you're covered for both quick touch-ups and thorough maintenance.
The soft case keeps everything in its place and holds up to being tossed in a truck, a pack, or a locker. For anyone who shoots a mix of rifles and pistols and would rather not buy separate caliber kits, this one covers a lot of ground in a single zip-up package.
The kit includes bore brushes and jags sized for most popular rifle and handgun calibers, so it handles a wide range of common guns. It also comes with two dedicated chamber brushes for .223/5.56 and .308/7.62, which makes it a good match for AR-15 and .308 platforms. Between the assortment of brushes and jags, it covers the everyday lineup most shooters keep in the safe.
It gives you both. There's a flexible pull-through cable for quick cleaning at the range and four brass rod sections that thread together for more control during a deeper clean. A combo handle works with either method, so you can pick whichever fits the gun and the job.
Yes, the soft-sided nylon case zips shut to hold everything in place and stands up to getting tossed in a pack or truck. The MOLLE webbing lets you strap it to a bag or gear setup for easy transport. It keeps the small parts organized so you're not digging around for a lost pick or brush.
This kit focuses on the tools, so it includes brushes, jags, picks, and the cable and rod hardware rather than chemicals. You'll want to pair it with your preferred bore solvent and gun oil to finish the job. Most folks already have a bottle of cleaner and lubricant on the bench, and this kit slots right in alongside them.
