It features a redesigned lower-profile slide, a rounded trigger guard, and a trimmer beavertail compared to the standard Thunder, all of which make a real difference when you're drawing from a holster or tucking it under a cover garment. It carries better than you might expect for a 15-round .380. The alloy frame keeps the weight around 20 ounces empty, and the overall length sits at 6.5 inches. The grip is wider than a single-stack pistol, but the wraparound rubber grips and the rounded trigger guard help it ride comfortably against the body. The integral locking system is a key-operated feature that physically locks the action and prevents the pistol from being fired. The Thunder 380 Combat Plus ships with one 15-round double-stack magazine. Picking up a spare is a smart move, as the double-stack magazine for this model can be harder to find than mags for more common platforms. Sourcing an extra mag sooner rather than later is worth the effort.
