Description

Ounces turn into pounds fast when you're climbing at elevation, and Bergara built the Cima Pro for exactly that problem. This is the flagship of the Premier Series, and the whole rifle leans on carbon technology from front to back. The stock is autoclave-cured carbon fiber, the same high-pressure curing process used in aerospace work, which squeezes out excess resin for the best strength-to-weight ratio you can get from carbon. It's so rigid that Bergara skipped the mini-chassis entirely and mates the action straight to the carbon structure. The result is a short-action rifle that weighs roughly 5.5 pounds before you mount a scope.

What Makes the Cima Pro Different

The barrel is Bergara's 20 inch CURE carbon fiber design, which weaves stainless steel strands into the carbon wrap to pull heat away from the bore. That addresses the classic carbon barrel complaint of point-of-impact shift as the tube warms up, so your third and fourth shots land where the first one did. Behind it sits the skeletonized Premier action machined from 416 stainless, with lightening cuts, a widened ejection port, a spiral-fluted bolt, and a smooth, positive cycle. Everything steel wears a stainless Cerakote finish, so weather on a week-long hunt is a non-issue. A TriggerTech trigger handles fire control with the crisp, zero-creep break that brand is known for, and the new self-timing ST2 side-port brake keeps the muzzle flat, which matters on a rifle this light.

25 Creedmoor in a True Mountain Rifle

This chambering is one of the more exciting things going in the hunting world right now. The 25 Creedmoor pushes sleek, high-BC quarter-bore bullets with mild recoil and a very flat trajectory, a great match for deer, antelope, and open-country work. Feeding comes from a hinged floorplate with M5-compatible bottom metal, so there's no detachable magazine to drop in the snow, and you get five rounds of capacity. The receiver is drilled and tapped on the Remington 700 pattern, add your favorite base and glass and this one is ready for the backcountry, backed by Bergara's sub-MOA guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Bergara Cima Pro use a detachable magazine?

No, it feeds from a hinged floorplate with M5-compatible bottom metal and a release built into the trigger guard. In this short-action 25 Creedmoor configuration you get five rounds of capacity. A lot of backcountry hunters prefer this setup since there's no magazine to lose or rattle in a pack.

Can I remove the ST2 muzzle brake and run a suppressor?

Yes. The ST2 is a self-timing, two-piece brake that comes installed from the factory, but it can be removed and reinstalled without special tools. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pitch for most suppressors and aftermarket brakes in this bore size.

How is the Cima Pro different from the standard Cima CF?

The Cima Pro moves up into Bergara's Premier line with a skeletonized stainless Premier action instead of the B-14 action, an autoclave-cured carbon stock rather than the RTM version, plus a TriggerTech trigger and the new ST2 brake. The autoclave stock is rigid enough that the action beds directly to the carbon with no mini-chassis. It's the lighter, higher-end build of the two.

What makes the CURE carbon barrel hold accuracy when it heats up?

Bergara weaves stainless steel strands into the carbon fiber wrap, which conducts heat away from the bore instead of trapping it. They call it Cold Bore Technology, and it's designed to prevent the point-of-impact drift that some carbon barrels show as they warm. The rifle carries Bergara's sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
