The original 3032 Tomcat had a loyal following, but Beretta didn't just reissue it. The 30X frame is built roughly twice as strong as the old one, so it digests warmer defensive .32 ACP loads without complaint. The heel-style mag release moved to a proper button behind the trigger, and the magazines drop free. The old tip-up lever became a push button. Best of all, the new Trident trigger system cuts pull weight by about 35 percent in both double and single action, which matters a lot for the same folks the tip-up barrel was designed to help. Capacity bumped up to 8+1, and the front and rear sights sit in dovetail cuts so you can drift or swap them down the road.
This is the standard barrel version with low profile fixed sights, so you get the cleanest, snag-free profile in the 30X lineup. At around 15 ounces with an aluminum alloy frame, it disappears into a bag, an IWB rig, or a glove box kit without weighing you down. The Helica textured grips give your hand something real to hold onto, and the .32 ACP cartridge keeps recoil soft enough that range practice stays fun instead of punishing. Straight blowback operation keeps the internals simple, cleaning is quick, and the DA/SA action with a frame-mounted safety gives you flexible carry options. If slide racking has kept you or someone you care about away from semi autos, this little Beretta is the answer that took nearly everyone else decades to catch up to.
Chambered in .32 Auto with a 2.4 inch tip-up barrel, 8+1 capacity, serrated slide, and matte black finish, the 30X ships with one 8-round magazine and a hard case.
Press the button just below the slide and the barrel pivots upward, exposing the chamber. You can drop a round directly in or clear a chambered round without ever racking the slide. Once you close the barrel and insert the magazine, the pistol cycles like any other semi auto when fired.
It's one of the best options out there for exactly that. The push-button tip-up barrel removes the need to rack a slide, and Beretta's Trident trigger system cuts pull weight roughly 35 percent compared to the old 3032, so the double action pull is far more manageable. Soft-recoiling .32 ACP rounds out the package nicely.
Quite a bit. The 30X frame is about twice as strong, so it handles hotter defensive .32 ACP loads that the 3032 couldn't. It also gained a push-button barrel release instead of a lever, a standard mag release behind the trigger, dovetailed sights, an extra round of capacity at 8+1, and a much lighter, smoother trigger.
Yes. This model wears low profile fixed sights, but both the front and rear sit in dovetail cuts, so they can be drifted for windage or swapped out later. If you want taller sights or a threaded barrel from the factory, Beretta offers other 30X variants with those features built in.
