The Chocolate Chip pattern has real history behind it. Originally developed as the U.S. military's six-color desert camouflage, it became one of the most recognizable patterns of the Gulf War era and earned its nickname from the troops who wore it. Beretta partnered with Howe Arms to bring that pattern to the 92XI American Combat series, and each pistol is hand-painted by a disabled veteran artist. That means no two are exactly alike, and every one carries a piece of that story with it.
Under the finish, this is a thoroughly modernized 92-series pistol. The 92XI moves the safety from the slide to the frame, which is a big deal for anyone who has wanted a Beretta that runs more like a 1911. The ambidextrous lever sits right where your thumb lands naturally, and the single-action only X-treme-S flat-faced trigger with DLC-coated internals gives you a consistent, clean break shot to shot. The skeletonized hammer keeps the lockwork light and crisp without sacrificing reliability.
The Vertec-style frame slims the grip profile compared to earlier 92-series guns, and the aggressive checkering and enhanced grip panel texturing give you real purchase under recoil. Up front, a fiber optic sight gets you on target fast, and the slide is pre-cut for MRDS optics mounting if you want to run a red dot. The integral Picatinny rail handles a light or laser without any adapters. The 4.7-inch barrel and full-size platform give you a 6.1-inch sight radius and a well-balanced gun that shoots flat and returns quickly.
This is the 15-round capacity variant (SPEC0730A15), chambered in 9mm. It is a limited-edition release, and given that each pistol is individually hand-painted, inventory is not something Beretta restocks on a regular rotation. The 92XI completely changes that setup with a frame-mounted ambidextrous safety and a single-action only trigger, so it functions much more like a 1911 in terms of manual of arms. If you have trained on 1911-style pistols, the transition to the 92XI is minimal.
Yes. The slide on the 92XI Combat is pre-cut for MRDS optics mounting, so running a compact red dot is straightforward. Mounting plates are sold separately, so check which footprint your preferred optic uses before ordering. The fiber optic iron sights remain usable as a co-witness backup.
