The 300 Blackout cartridge was built from the ground up to perform in short barrels, and a 9 inch tube sits right in its sweet spot. That is what makes the RECCE-9 such a smart pairing. Supersonic loads get nearly complete powder burn, subsonics cycle happily if a suppressor is in your plans, and the whole package stays quick and easy to move with in tight spaces. At roughly 25 inches overall and just under five pounds, this is the kind of AR pistol you can stage by the bed or run through a carbine class without your arms filing a complaint.
BCM did not cut corners to get here. The 9 inch barrel is machined from independently certified 11595E steel with a chrome lined bore and chamber, an enhanced taper profile with fluting, and a 1:7 twist that stabilizes everything from light supersonics to heavy 220 grain subs. The bolt is machined from Carpenter No. 158 steel, then HPT tested, MPI inspected, and shot peened, riding in a chrome lined full auto profile carrier with a properly staked gas key. Both receivers are machined from 7075-T6 forgings with hardcoat anodizing, and the flat top upper carries M4 feed ramps with laser T-marks. This is the same standard BCM applies to everything that leaves their line, and it shows up in how consistently these guns run.
The MCMR-8 free float handguard keeps the front end slim and light while giving you M-LOK slots for a light, sling mount, or hand stop, and BCM includes an MCMR QD sling swivel mount to get you started. You also get the crisp PNT trigger, the BCMGUNFIGHTER charging handle, Mod 3 pistol grip, QD end plate, and a Mod 1 7.62 compensator on the threaded muzzle that takes real bite out of an already soft shooting cartridge. Feed it from the included 30 round magazine, hang your favorite optic on top, and this thing is ready to work. For a do-it-all compact in 300 Blackout, the RECCE-9 MCMR is about as complete as they come out of the box.
It runs supersonic loads reliably right out of the box, and BCM sets these barrels up to run with an H3 buffer for high velocity ammo. For subsonic rounds, BCM recommends running a suppressor and switching to a carbine buffer for the most reliable cycling. That is normal for 300 Blackout guns, since subs generate a lot less gas pressure.
Yes. The muzzle is threaded and wears a BCM Mod 1 7.62 compensator that spins off so you can mount a direct thread can or your suppressor's mount of choice. The 9 inch barrel length and 300 Blackout's subsonic capability make this one of the better host setups you can buy.
This version, part number 503-850, ships with a pistol receiver extension rather than a brace, and there are no sights included. The flat top upper and MCMR-8 handguard give you plenty of rail space to set it up with a red dot, LPVO, or backup irons however you like.
The MCMR-8 is a free float aluminum handguard with M-LOK slots on multiple surfaces, so lights, lasers, hand stops, and sling mounts attach directly without add-on rail sections. BCM also includes an MCMR QD sling swivel mount with the gun. It keeps the front end slim and lightweight, which suits a compact pistol like this.
