The RECCE-16 MCMR-LW is the trimmed-down version of their proven 16-inch carbine, swapping in BCM's enhanced lightweight profile barrel to shave real weight off the front end without giving up the durability the company built its name on. The barrel is where BCM refuses to cut corners. It starts as independently certified mil-spec 11595E steel, gets a chrome-lined bore and chamber for longevity and easy cleaning, and wears manganese phosphate finish over the entire barrel.
